The second edition of the Industrial Suppliers & Engineering Forum, an event dedicated exclusively to industry and engineering, took place on May 25, 2022.

Industrial Suppliers & Engineering Forum is a connection platform for the business community, which facilitates public-private dialogue and ensures a continuous interaction between representatives of industrial companies.

Industrial Suppliers & Engineering Forum is dedicated to the development of SMEs in the Republic of Moldova and facilitating the creation of links between local  companies with  global value chains, thus forming industrial skills  and engineering in the country, bringing added value to international participants.  The event   aims to raise awareness about the topics of electronics, engineering, research and development among the business community   and young people .

Dumitru Pîntea, interim director, Organization for the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM) “ODIMM ensures the support of local companies in creating partnerships and supports the expansion of businesses on other markets.  The institution has in its portfolio several support instruments, meant to support companies in the Republic of  Moldova in the  process of internationalization, greening, digitization and  encouraging participation  in  local and international exhibitions/fairs”. Within the forum was presented the online platform for business connections – the BusinessLink.MD. The platform was conceived as a key government tool for developing contacts between local suppliers and international companies. “The matchmaking platform will increase the visibility of local companies and make the products and services of domestic companies more accessible to potential international buyers”.

Radu Melnic, Director, Center for Career Counseling and Guidance, Technical University of Moldova: “We are glad to be the organizers of an event dedicated to both SMEs in search of specialists, as well as students, interested in their professional development here at home in Moldova.  The mission of the Technical University of Moldova is to train today’s students in tomorrow’s specialists.”

Sebastian Metz, General Manager, AHK    Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry spoke about managing bottlenecks in the supply chain and ensuring business continuity in the region.  “The crisis in Ukraine is having a direct impact on supply chains and  outsourcing markets.  The Republic of Moldova can capitalize on these circumstances by providing an investment platform for companies from Ukraine and Russia.”


Also within the forum was held the Fair of Careers in Engineering and Technology, where national and international companies promoted vacancies and job offers for graduates and professionals. For the first time during the event,  a contest of  manual soldering on the PCB was organized. At the same time, tours were organized at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Transport with visits to the laboratories, the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, Department of Biomedical and Microelectronic Engineering, as well as at  the design office  DRAEXLMAIER DSM, a company that aims to organize on this occasion  the Open Doors Day.

The initiative to organize a specialized career fair started in 2017 within the Moldova Automotive Days event, hosted by the Technical University of Moldova. The purpose of the career fair is to promote local engineering skills and highlight actors in the  domestic industry, which require such skills.

Industrial Suppliers & Engineering Forum was developed by the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM), the Association of Electronic Industry Companies of Moldova (ACEM) and the Investment Agency (Invest Moldova), with the support of  the Project “Advising the Government of the Republic of Moldova in economic policies”, implemented by  GIZ Moldova with  the  financial support of the Federal Ministry for  Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) and  Swiss Agency  for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
